The Light that will guide you in the Dark times of your life: One Scary night
by: Breian Malupa
For some odd reason, I had grown the habit of watching horror films and I prefer to watch it alone. I turn off the lights and have
the full surround sound happening, loud and clear. What’s ironic is that I actually scare myself close to death after watching scary movies
and usually won’t be able to get to sleep afterwards. Yet, I love watching it home alone in the dark. I will never watch a horror movie if
someone else is inside the house.
So one night I was watching, “The Exorcism of Emily Rose (based on a true story)” by myself at home, alone in the dark.
Half way watching the movie, I was already glued onto the sofa and was numbed in fear. My heart was racing and my chest was thumping hard.
I could feel the hairs on the back of my neck standing up, as well as the hairs on my arms.
It was in the scene where Emily was in the barn, the spirits were inside her and she was raging violently, cursing in demonic
tongues. All of a sudden, there was a blackout and the power was cut off. Perfect!... I was left in the dark with my heightened imagination
of spirits and demons. It was night time, I had all the blinds already closed and it was pitch dark in silence.
Scary Moments in life
There was no way I was getting out of the sofa because Emily might crawl out of the TV. Surely, there was no way I was going to
open the blinds because I knew that her ghostly reflection was waiting for me through the window glass.
It took me like 20 minutes to get off the sofa, hoping that the power would return soon. Well, I had no choice but to get off the
sofa. Screw that!... I don’t want to be on that possessed sofa when it starts to float in the air!
Ok, the flashlights and candles were in the kitchen pantry. I was groping my way in the dark and prayed that I won’t stumble upon
a cold lifeless hand. I finally got to the kitchen pantry and opened the pantry door.
ARRRGGHHHH!!!!.... someone touched me in the dark!
I totally forgot that my dog was inside the house and I thought it was a ghost that touched me. Luckily, the moment when I yelled,
my dog also barked afterwards and I realized that it was only my dog.
5 minutes later, I still had no luck in finding the candles and flashlight in the kitchen pantry. It was there, but I can’t see it. The other source of light was my cell phone and the cell phone was
somewhere in the bedroom. I slowly made my way to the bedroom and got my cell phone. The light from the cell phone wasn’t bright enough; it
can only light up like a foot away. I made my way again back to the kitchen with the little light I had and was successful in finding the
candles and flashlight.
Uncertain Future
Intuition is
like a guiding light. The whole room doesn’t need to be fully lit, as long as we have a source of light,
no matter how small is that light, it can guide us and help us find what we are looking for.
It is similar in life.
We will find ourselves in the dark with no light, in difficult and frightening situations. We will be confused and won’t know what to do or
where to go. Intuition is like a guiding light that can brighten a small section. This small section is all we need to find our way. As we
move forward and follow our intuition, our life will slowly start to unfold in the direction where we want to be heading.
If we don’t listen to our intuition, it is like groping around in the dark; clueless and helpless, with no
sense of direction.
In life, we cannot see what is held in the future and we do not know what truly lies ahead. We do not really know how things will
turn out. When will we die? Will we get divorced? Will there be an accident? Will we gain something or lose something? The roads in our
lives are filled with ups and downs, twists and turns, it is filled with uncertainties.
Everyone will come to a point where they will have to make a difficult decision. A decision that must be decided; whether it is
career, health, relationship, etc… We don’t really know if things will turn out for better or worst. The only thing we can really do is be
positive, hope for the best and make the best decision as we can. Here is where Intuition is very helpful. When we use our intuition as a
guide, our intuition will guide us towards our needs and wants.
Your Guiding Light
I was driving at night out in the country, there were no light posts and was very dark. It was like your classic horror film
setting; driving at a very dark night, on a lonely unpaved road, far away from nowhere and with no cell phone coverage. The last thing
I wanted was for my car to breakdown and then I have to spend a night at some abandoned haunted house in the middle of nowhere.
Interesting experience for the first timer, and the kicker was that I didn’t even know at what point when I was lost. It just hit
me as a big surprise; Hey! Am I on the right road or not?... hmmm I think I’m lost!... Hmmm I wonder who was that lady looking pale,
dressed in white, standing on the side of the road of nowhere, in the middle of the night?
Fortunately, my car didn’t breakdown and there was no way I was picking up that ghost hitch-hiker in the middle of nowhere! I
arrived at the ranch safely at around 2am. My car lights can only brighten up 10 meters ahead, and that’s all that I needed.
Our path in life will always be unclear, but as we move along with our intuition (our guiding light), our path will slowly unfold
before us and we will reach our destination.
Trust your intuition; somehow your intuition already knows what is best for you.
